Angela Bassett Joins Millie Bobby Brown in the Cast of Netflix's Fantasy Film DAMSEL

Academy Award-nominated actress Angela Basset (What’s Love Got to Do With It, Black Panther, 9-1-1) has joined the cast of the Netflix fantasy film, Damsel, opposite Stranger Things star, Millie Bobby Brown. The movie is being directed by Oscar nominated filmmaker Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (Linked, 28 Weeks Later), from a script written by Dan Mazeau (Wrath of the Titans).

In the film, “a princess is shocked to discover that she’ll be sacrificed to the kingdom’s sacred cave dragon, after being married to her prince charming. She must survive long enough until someone comes to save her – only no one is coming.”

Bassett will play Lady Bayford in Damsel, the stepmother to Brown’s Elodie. Bassett is a solid actress, and a great addition to any cast. Damsel is currently in production, so we should hear more about the cast and release soon.
