Angelina Jolie Goes to War with Michelle Pfeiffer in New Trailer for MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL

Disney has released a new trailer for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, and it features a lot of new footage from the film that shows Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent going to war with Michelle Pfeiffer‘s Queen Ingrith. The trailer also reveals the reason they go to war.

Maleficent is shown as an overbearing mother figure who doesn’t want Princess Aurora (Elle Fanning) to marry Price Phillip (Harris Dickinson) because she doesn’t like his mom. I guess that might be a good reason to wreak havoc on a kingdom.

I wasn’t really a fan of the first film, and this sequel looks like it’ll be more of the same to me. The movie was directed by Joachim Rønning (Kon Tiki) from a script written by Linda Woolverton (Maleficent), and here’s the synopsis:

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is a fantasy adventure that picks up several years after “Maleficent,” in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora. The film continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.

The movie also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sam Riley, Ed Skrein, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville

The movie hits theaters on October 18th, and you can watch the new trailer below.
