Angelina Jolie in Talks To Star in Marvel's THE ETERNALS
Marvel Studios is going after another big star for one of their upcoming movies. The are looking to cast Angelina Jolie in The Eternals and she is currently in talks with the studio, so this casting might actually happen!
There are no details regarding who she will play, but it’s been said that the lead character in the film will be Sersi. It’s also said that one aspect to the story “involves the love story between Ikaris, a man fueled by cosmic energy, and Sersi, who relishes moving amongst humans.”
I guess there’s a chance that she could be playing Sersi. The studio was looking to cast someone between 20-40 to take on the role. Jolie is 43 and they have the power to de-age the actress to make her look younger if they wanted to. But, she could easily be playing another character in the story.
The Eternals was created by the legendary Jack Kirby, and the story is set millions of years ago “when the cosmic beings known as the Celestials genetically experimented on humans, creating the super-powered individuals as well as more villainous off-shoots known as the Deviants.” Those two groups went on to battle each other throughout history to see which would eventually become the ultimate race.
Chloe Zhao (The Rider) is directing the film from a script written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo.
I think it would be cool to see Jolie jump on board a Marvel film project! I’m curious to know who exactly she will be playing in the film. There is a list of characters that are rumored to be a part of the film that you can see here.
