ANIMA MUNDI Aims to Be Your New Favorite Strategy Board Game
If you like strategy board games, check out Anima Mundi from Asaeil Games. The game is currently looking for funding via Kickstarter and it looks pretty fun. It takes inspiration from popular strategy video games like Heroes of Might and Magic and Warcraft III and is designed to feature intuitive rules and adjustable play time. In Anima Mundi, 2-4 players will each control one of the four factions (Elementals, Humans, Celestial Accord, Alloyed) and send their Champions into the world to gather resources and fight each other. The last Champion standing wins.
One aspect of Anima Mundi that aims to help give the game practically unlimited replayability is the fully modular map. You never know what the map will look like so strategies will need to change each time you play. Each faction has their own playstyle with the Celestial Accord designed for aggressive players, Elementals are more balanced, Alloyed employ tricks and clever strategies, and Humans are defensive.
Another aspect that I personally appreciate about Anima Mundi is that part of the reason it’s on Kickstarter is so that Asaeil Games can pay the artist, Ty Grenier. As of writing, the Kickstarter has over 25 days left and is making pretty good progress towards their goal of $13,500 sitting at a little under $5,000.
