Anna Kendrick Captivates in First Trailer for Dramatic Thriller ALICE, DARLING
A new trailer and poster have been released for the upcoming dramatic thriller, Alice, Darling. The film stars Oscar-nominee Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air, Pitch Perfect) as a young woman in an abusive and controlling relationship that her friends are hoping to encourage her out of. She is joined in the cast by Kaniehtiio Horn (Letterkenny), Charlie Carrick (Departure), and Wunmi Mosaku (Lovecraft Country, Loki).
The film was directed by Mary Nighy, daughter of actor Bill Nighy, in her directorial debut, from a script by Alanna Francis (The Rest of Us).
The synopsis from Variety reads:
Kendrick stars in “Alice, Darling” as a woman pushed to the breaking point by her psychologically abusive boyfriend, Simon. While on vacation with two close girlfriends, Alice rediscovers her essence and gains some much-needed perspective. Slowly, she starts to fray the cords of codependency that bind her. But Simon’s vengeance is as inevitable as it is shattering — and, once unleashed, it tests Alice’s strength, courage, and the bonds of her deep-rooted friendships.
This looks like such an intense story with a career-defining performance from Kendrick. I look forward to watching it unfold. Check out the trailer below, and watch Alice, Darling in theaters on January 20th.
