Anna Kendrick Compares Making the TWILIGHT Movies to Being in a 'Hostage Situation'

The Twilight saga was a phenomenon beyond what anyone could have predicted. What began with four novels about a family of vampires and a love affair between a girl and the world’s oldest teenager became a five-film deal that did well at the box office and has gone on to haunt us on cable. The cast was full of hits and misses with a young group of actors, many of whom have gone on to make major careers for themselves, namely stars Robert Pattinson, who will be playing Batman soon, Kristen Stewart, who works consistently and is the first American actress to win a César, and Anna Kendrick, who has been nominated for an Oscar for her role in the film Up In the Air, and has had success in films like Pitch Perfect, 50/50, and many more.

It seems like it would have been a pretty fun set to be a part of, but Kendrick recently spoke to Vanity Fair about filming the movies, and she painted a very different picture.

“The first movie we filmed in Portland, Oregon, and I just remember being so cold and miserable. And I just remember my Converse being completely soaked through and feeling like, ‘You know, this is a really great group of people and I’m sure that we would be friends at a different time, but I want to murder everyone.’ Although, it was also kind of bonding. There was something about it, like if you go through some trauma event. Like you imagine people who survive a hostage situation, and you’re kind of bonded for life.”

So the weather put a serious damper on the fun of the shoot. That’s too bad, but at least she can look back on it with a laugh. It’s not too bad of a deal to get a movie that turns into a multi-picture deal, so I’m sure the feelings are bittersweet.
