AnnaSophia Robb Set to Star Opposite Will Smith in Action Thriller Film SUPERMAX
AnnaSophia Robb, best known for her roles in Bridge to Terabithia, Soul Surfer, and The Way Way Back, has signed on to star in the upcoming action thriller Supermax, opposite Academy Award winner Will Smith. David Gordon Green (Halloween, The Righteous Gemstones) is directing the pic from a script written by David Rosen and David Weil (Hunters, Invasion).
Robb is set to play Smith’s young partner in the film as the two detectives enter the depths of a supermax prison to solve a mysterious murder. Supermax is currently in pre-production, and doesn’t yet have a release date.
In the meantime, Robb is next up in a leading role in Amazon MGM’s Peter Farrelly-directed biographical drama I Play Rocky, the movie that tells the behind-the-scenes true story of the production of the seminal 1976 classic Rocky.
Following the release of the trailer last week, the film has gained award-season buzz and is set to world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
Robb is also set to join the recurring cast of the Prime Video comedy Overcompensating for its second season.
She is coming off rave reviews for her turn in the Emmy-winning Netflix film Rebel Ridge, opposite Aaron Pierre, with other recent credits including Peacock’s Dr. Death and Hulu’s Little Fires Everywhere.
