Anne Hathaway Wants Matthew McConaughey To Kill Her Husband in Trailer For The "Sexy, Stylized Thriller" SERENITY
"Sometimes we do bad things for good reasons."
Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway reunite for the first time since starring in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar together for a new film called Serenity. The movie comes from director Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Locke) and it's described as a "sexy, stylized thriller".
McConaughey plays a character named Baker Dill "a fishing boat captain leading tours off a tranquil, tropical enclave called Plymouth Island. His quiet life is shattered, however, when his ex-wife Karen (Hathaway) tracks him down with a desperate plea for help. She begs Dill to save her – and their young son – from her new, violent husband by taking him out to sea on a fishing excursion, only to throw him to the sharks and leave him for dead. Karen’s appearance thrusts Dill back into a life he’d tried to forget, and as he struggles between right and wrong, his world is plunged into a new reality that may not be all that it seems."
As you'll see in the trailer, it certainly looks like it will be an intense thriller with a few twists and turns in the story. The movie has a great supporting cast which includes Jason Clarke, Djimon Hounsou, Jeremy Strong, and Diane Lane.
I like Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway and this seems like it could be a pretty good thriller. Serenity open in theaters on October 19, 2018.
