Annette Bening Has Signed on For a Mysterious Role in CAPTAIN MARVEL
Marvel Studios has been able to lure some pretty big name, iconic actors into their films. Jeff Bridges, Robert Redford, Cate Blanchette, Anthony Hopkins, Michael Douglas, and Michelle Phiffer just to name a few. Now four-time Oscar-nominated actress Annette Bening (Regarding Henry, American Beauty) has signed up for her first comic book movie!
The character that Bening is playing is being kept under wraps, but according to THR she is playing some sort of "scientist". That could be anyone, so it's hard to even speculate who she might actually be playing. But, speculate away if you think you might know!
Captain Marvel is being directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck who directed Mississippi Grind. The most recent script comes from Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider). The film also stars Brie Larson, Ben Mendelsohn as the villain, Jude Law as Doctor Walter Lawson, a.k.a. Mar-Vell, Clark Gregg will reprise his role as Agent Coulson, and Lee Pace and Djimon Hounsou, be back as the Kree villain Ronan the Accuser and his henchman Korath the Pursuer.
The story of the film follows Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident. The resulting alteration imbues her with the superpowers of strength, energy projection, and flight. The Kree alien race will also be a major part of the story.
The movie is set to be released on March 8th, 2019.
