This past weekend at Comic-Con, I was able to watch the first two episodes of the new animated series Praise Petey, from creator, writer, and executive producer Anna Drezen, former head writer of Saturday Night Live. The series follows Petey, a New York City “it” girl who has it all until her life comes crashing down around her. As luck would have it, a mysterious gift from her father gives her a new lease on life: She’s going to “lean into” modernizing his small-town cult.

The series stars Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek), John Cho (Searching), Kiersey Clemons (The Flash), Stephen Root (Barry), Amy Hill (50 First Dates) and Christine Baranski (Mamma Mia!), and it features some other fun cameos you’ll recognize as well.

The show was so weird and hilarious, and it made me excited to watch more. The series dropped its first two episodes this past weekend on Freeform, and will show its remaining episodes on Fridays. Check out the trailer for the series below, and watch the first two episodes now on Freeform or Hulu.
