Another DOCTOR STRANGE Character Confirmed To Appear in AVENGERS 4

Another character from the MCU has been confirmed to appear in Avengers 4. Last week a character from Captain America’s past was revealed, and now today we’ve learned that there will be a character from Doctor Strange’s past that will be included in the story.

So, last week Frank Grillo was confirmed to reprise his role of Crossbones in Avengers 4 in what he calls a “flashback” scene. Now executive producer Michael Grillo, who is not related to Frank, has dropped another big reveal that I wasn’t expecting.

During an appearance at the Austin Film Festival, he was asked about Avenger 4’s crazy shooting schedule and it’s in his answer that he confirms that Tilda Swinton will return as The Ancient one. He said:

"When we got Tilda Swinton, she was just a 1-day availability.”

With Swinton only coming in to shoot for one day, her role in the film won’t be a big one, but I imagine she and Doctor Strange will be discussing a few things. Maybe she offers him some help in the situations that he finds himself in.

Both Doctor Strange and The Ancient One are dead, so maybe there’s a scene that takes place in the afterlife, which would be interesting. Or maybe it’s going to be part of the whole time travel thing.

Maybe she offers Strange some insight on the Infinity Stones as The Avengers attempt to try and collect them before Thanos does, which is one of the many fan theories out there.

Wouldn’t it be cool, though, if there’s kind of a flashback scene to when Doctor Strange is looking at the Fourteen million six hundred and five different possible outcomes in Avengers: Infinity War, but in Avengers 4, we actually see what was going on in his head?

How do you think The Ancient One will fit into the story?
