Another Episode of Marvel's WHAT IF...? Series Will Reportedly Center on Peter Parker as Hawkeye

As Marvel Studios continues development on their animated What If…? series some new information has come to light that you might be interested in knowing.

Each episode of the series will examine the past films included in The Infinity Saga, but each of the stories will feature one key difference showing how the story would have played out differently.

Some of the things we know the series will explore include T'Challa as Star-Lord; Zombie Captain America fighting Bucky Barnes; Peggy Carter as Captain Carter, Steve Rogers never getting the serum, and more stories that have yet to be revealed. You can see some previously released footage here.

According to a report from The Direct, details on another episode have surfaced. During a recap of the Marvel Studios panel from last year’s Comic-Con, reporter Matt Donnelly mentions seeing Tom Holland’s Peter Parker as Hawkeye:

“And what's interesting about this is that it kinda imagines all the heroes you know and love sort of recast in different roles. I know it's sort of hard to imagine, but they showed images of Tom Holland as Hawkeye. They showed Peggy [Hayley Atwell] as Captain America and it's all animated.”

I was at that panel and I have to say… I don’t recall seeing Tom Holland’s Peter Parker as Hawkeye, but there was so much going on, things were happening so fast, and I was also writing at the time, so I could have easily missed it if it was there. This is just the first time I’ve heard of it, and it’s kind of weird for this news to break a whole year later, but it happened.

We know that Marvel is going to be doing some wild things for the stories of this series and I’m’s super excited about it! If this news is true, It’ll certainly be interesting to see a story where Peter Parker become Hawkeye instead of Spider-Man.

Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter, Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Taika Waititi as Korg, Toby Jones as Arnim Zola, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, and Michael Rooker as Yondu. The Watcher will be voiced by Jeffrey Wright.
