Another Funny Trailer for Eddie Murphy's COMING 2 AMERICA
Amazon has debuted another trailer for director Craig Brewer and Eddie Murphy’s Coming 2 America, the long-awaited sequel to the classic 1988 comedy Coming To America. This new trailer is great, and it’s filled with new footage from the film, and it sheds some additional light on the story. Coming 2 America is also going to deliver some funny comedic moments!
The story is set in the lush and royal country of Zamunda, and the story “continues to follow newly-crowned King Akeem and his trusted confidante Semmi as they embark on an all-new hilarious adventure that has them traversing the globe from their great African nation to the borough of Queens, New York – where it all began.”
The sequel features the return of Murphy as Akeem and Arsenio Hall as Semmi. Murphy and Hall actually play multiple roles in the film, which you’ll see in the trailer. They are joined by James Earl Jones as King Jaffe Joffer, Shari Headley as Queen Lisa, John Amos as Cleo McDowell, and Louie Anderson as Maurice, as well as the motley barbershop crew. New cast members include Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, Jermaine Fowler, Bella Murphy, Rotimi, KiKi Layne, Nomzamo Mbatha, and Teyana Taylor.
Coming 2 America was written by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris. It will be released exclusively on Prime Video on March 5, 2021.
