Another Sinister Image of Pennywise The Clown in IT Gives Us a Closer Look

Thanks to Empire, we have a new image featuring Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise The Clown in Stephen King's It and he's got a very terrifying and sinister look. I know we' ve seen a lot of Pennywise already in the trailers, but there are certain details featured in this photo that I never noticed before like the cracks on his head.

As much as I loved Tim Curry's version of Pennywsie, I love the look of this new look and vibe of the version in the upcoming film. It's very different, but that's ok! It still works and it's still going to scare the living shit out of audiences.

When talking about playing Pennywise, Skarsgård says:

“In order for this movie to be as effective as the book and the series, I have to scare a whole generation. My take was that Pennywise functions very simply. Nothing much is going on in terms of what he’s thinking — he’s animalistic and instinctive.”

He went on to talk about how playing Pennywise affected his dreams, saying:

“It’s funny. I went back to Stockholm after we wrapped, and every night for two weeks, I had these strange recurring Pennywise dreams. I was him, but I was in the wrong setting, somehow. I was upset that people could see my face. It was surreal. I can’t explain it.”

It will be released in theaters on September 8th!
