Another Spider-Man Character Will Reportedly Appear in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

SPOILER WARNING!

Captain America: Civil War wrapped production this weekend and is now heading into the post-production portion of the filmmaking process. Also, we now have word that another Spider-Man character will be making an appearance in the movie.

Heroic Hollywood reports that their sources tell them that Marisa Tomei will be introduced as Aunt May the movie. They say that she secretly shot her scenes right before production wrapped. They go on to say that furniture props of Peter Parker's bedroom were revealed last week by a Atlanta TV station. They believe that Aunt May was in the bedroom scene that was being shot with Tom Holland's Peter Parker.

When Tomei was cast in the role of Aunt May while Civil War was in production, I wondered if she would make a brief appearance in the film before the Spider-Man solo film that set to be released in 2017. Apparently, the news was previously teased by THR in their original report:

“Contrary to other reports, THR hears that Tomei’s Aunt May may be making her first appearance in Marvel and Disney’s Captain America: Civil War. Holland’s Peter Parker is also expected to cameo in that 2016 film.”

So the fact that this news is coming for two separate sources is decent confirmation that this could actually be the case. But until we hear an official confirmation from the studio, we'll treat it as a rumor.

I'm completely on board with Tomei playing Aunt May. I think she's a great choice, and it seems like a lot of other fans are on board as well. I'm just excited to Marvel's reinvention of Spider-Man for the big screen. I'll always love what Sam Raimi did with Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield's portrayal of the character. But now that the character is going to be a part of the MCU, it takes everything to a whole new level.
