ANT-MAN 3 Writer Explains That Kang is Just Going To Get "Stronger and Stronger" in The MCU
Now that Kang has entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe things are going to start to get really interesting. I mean, at least I hope they do! They’ve got an incredibly interesting villain to play with, and it would be a shame if Marvel didn’t take advantage of that over the course of The Multiverse Saga.
During a recent interview with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantiumania writer Jeff Loveness recently spoke to Variety about the villain and teased how things are going to play out with Kang in the MCU. He explained that while Kang The Conquerer has been disposed of, something more sinister is coming.
He Who Remains told Loki: "You may hate the dictator, but something far worse is gonna fill that void if you depose of him." Loveness went on to explain that while Kang is defeated, he will come back even stronger:
"Well, that's the beautiful thing about Kang in the comics. He is defeated a lot. In fact, it's almost comedic how often he loses. The scary thing is that he's not defined by his failure, and he can keep coming back stronger and stronger. It's not like you can just blow up the mothership, just beat him once and you're done. He is almost an existential threat, and the more you fight him the worse he's going to get."
The writer added:
"That is a fun, post-modernist challenge that is different for a superhero movie, and it's going to present a very complicated challenge for them going forward. It was very hard beating one of these guys. What's going to happen when suddenly the rest of them are aware of what we're doing?"
Like I said, there’s potential for things to get really interesting with Kang in the MCU, and it’s all leading up to Avengers: Kang Dynasty. When asked about the possible deaths of multiple Avengers, Lovless said: "But I think for these bloodthirsty fans, there's a little movie called Avengers: Kang Dynasty, I think he'll bring the heat."
