ANT-MAN AN THE WASP Costume Designs and Other Concept Art Details Revealed
I feel like as Marvel is going through its third phase, it's deciding to really have fun with the films. It's like the original Star Wars trilogy, the first phase set the tone and originated characters, the second phase got dark, and the third phase sold toys. I mean, had fun! Yeah, now some new details have been revealed on the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp film, and it's kind of got me excited!
During a recent tour of its facilities during a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 press event, many journalists got some information on the new films that are currently in development. Peyton Reed, the director of the first Ant-Man film and the director of the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp showed off some of the concept art for the new film.
In the images, it showed that there would be vehicles that could change sizes with the people in them. One specific piece of art showed Luis' van dodging giant rain drops as it chases another car. Already, that sounds like an awesomely exciting adventure scene that I'd love to watch. In another area, three separate Wasp costumes were shown. One was a classic Hope Van Dyne design while the others were more similar to the Ant-Man's design. Of the three one was blue, gold and white, and one was similar to the Ant-Man costume being black, red and silver.
Other artwork showed a dog eating a shrunken car, Ant-Man using a shaken bottle of Coca-Cola turned giant, and Ant-Man and Wasp running from a huge snake-like insect. This gives me hope that perhaps Annihilus could be a major antagonist in the series. Insect monsters are his deal. All in all it just sounds like a fun adventure movie exploring a shrunken world. It's a great step forward for Ant-Man that is different enough from the first, but keeps with the feel.
Oh yeah, and as you'd expect, Scott Lang will go into Giant-Man mode again!
Ant-Man and The Wasp will be in theaters on July 6, 2018
