ANT-MAN AND THE WASP Director Says That an AVENGERS 4 Fan Theory is Possible

I am going to start this off with a warning that this post is filled with spoilers and speculation. If you haven’t seen either Avengers: Infinity War or Ant-Man and the Wasp, do not read this. It will ruin your LIFE!

With that out of the way, let us get into this. Let me be honest with you, the end of Infinity War was deeply foreshadowed throughout the whole movie. The whole time I was trying to figure out who was going to be left after the snap. I was amazed and saddened to see who left us, but it needed to happen. What really got me was the bonus scene at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp. I, along with everyone in the theater with me that opening night, let out a sound that was a mix of a gasp and a scream when the scene was over.

There was a lot more set up in the scene than meets the eye, though. Before she was turned to dust bunnies, Janet Van Dyne warned Scott Lang to watch out for what she called “time vortexes”. Naturally, you combine that information and the photos that have been coming from the Avengers 4 set and you can tell that time travel is going to play a big part in the upcoming film. That's the big popular fan theory and when asked about it in an interview with The Huffington Post, he confirmed that that is certainly a possibility!

"Based on the science that we’ve set up in the first movie and this one, I won’t rule out the possibility. Because, again, we are dealing with a time vortex. That could happen.”

Reed didn't want to give too much information away, and added:

“I have to be careful here, as you well know."

When asked why Scott Lang didn’t do what he did in the first Ant-Man movie and just use a growth disc, Reed said:

“This is a new suit, so it really wouldn’t have the same growth that he had in the first movie... I would answer, ‘No, he does not have it.’ He can’t go to that well twice."

With that being said, you figure that was his plan all along. We all know that Ant-Man’s jaunt through the time vortexes is going to bring all of our favorite heroes back and they will go onto their most epic fight. I just can’t wait to see it.

All mysteries will be revealed when Avengers 4 hits theaters on May 3, 2019.
