ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA May See the Return of Corey Stoll's Yellowjacket
According to a new report, Marvel may end up bringing back Corey Stoll as Yellowjacket in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. Stoll made his debut as Yellowjacket in the first Ant-Man film and while he was defeated at the end of the film, there’s no confirmation that the character died.
The third Ant-Man film was recently being discussed in Vanity Fair’s Still Watching podcast, and entertainment reporter Joanna Robinson said, “I do know that Corey Stoll, in some shape, will be back for Ant-Man 3.”
Seeing Stoll return as Yellowjackact has never really been out of the question. Director Peyton Reed has teased that we could see Yellowjacket again at some point. Also, in the most recent episode of Loki, Yellowjacket’s helmet made an appearance.
During a previous interview, Reed hinted that Yellowjacket may return. When people were telling him that the villain was easily disposable, he responded with this:
“Well, I mean, you guys are making a massive assumption. There’s an assumption here that I’m not quite comfortable with. If you watch his death in the first Ant-Man, the suit is compromised...he shrinks and goes into a thing. I mean, he could be somewhere down there in that quantum realm.”
I guess we’ll just have to win and see how exactly this whole thing works out with Yellowjacket. It would make sense to bring back the villain in some capacity. At the same time, the third Ant-Man film will be focusing on a bigger and badder villain with Kang The Conquerer.
What are your thoughts on the possibility of Stoll returning to the role of Yellowjacket?
