Glen Powell and Anthony Hopkins to Star in New Action Thriller From Sam Raimi LOCKED

Anthony Hopkins and Top Gun: Maverick star Glen Powell are officially joining forces as they are set to star in the English remake of Locked! The film project is Based on the Argentinian thriller 4X4, and it’s set to be produced by fan-favorite Evil Dead creator Sam Raimi under his Raimi Productions banner.

This intense, character-driven thriller will be directed by Nightbooks filmmaker David Yarovesky and features a screenplay penned by Michael Arlen Ross. This latest collaboration between Yarovesky and Raimi follows their successful partnership on Nightbooks.

According to the logline, "Locked centers around a thief who breaks into a luxury SUV, only to realize that he's stumbled into a complex and deadly trap set by a mysterious figure."

Raimi had this to say about the project: “Dave Yarovesky so elevated the material on Nightbooks, and he was our first choice for this. The script was so good and he’s such a good communicator that we were able to interest Anthony Hopkins, who for my generation is just about the greatest actor ever. Glen’s character has got a soul to him that’s slowly revealed as the picture goes on. It seems as though he’s just a thief, someone that doesn’t care for others, but as the film unfolds, you realize he has a wife and a child that he loves and he’s wronged, and this whole experience gives him a chance to reflect back on how he’s treated them, and how he’s lived his life relative to them.”

There’s a lot of great talent involved with the making of this movie, and I think it’ll end up being great movie!

The film is produced by Zainab Azizi for Raimi Productions, in conjunction with Ara Keshishian and Petr Jákl for ZQ Entertainment. Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat, the creative force behind the original movie, serve as executive producers, alongside Martin J. Barab.
