Anthony Hopkins Joins Zack Snyder's REBEL MOON Sci-Fi Adventure Film
Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the Lambs, Hearts in Atlantis) has joined the cast of Zack Snyder’s sci-fi adventure film Rebel Moon. Hopkins will voice a robot character named Jimmy, “an impossibly sentient JC1435 mechanized battle robot and one-time defender of the slain King.”
The movie is set in a “peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius. They dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand against the Tyrant.”
Hopkins joins the previously cast Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Doona Bae, Djimon Hounsou, Ray Fisher, Jena Malone, Rupert Friend, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman, and Alfonso Herrera.
This project spawned from a story idea that Snyder had for Star Wars, but was rejected by Lucasfilm. He reworked the concept and is now looking to build his own franchise out of it! I’m excited to see how this thing turns out!
