Anthony Mackie Says CAPTAIN AMERICA 4 Is Better Than Tom Holland's SPIDER-MAN Trilogy
If you’ve seen Anthony Mackie in interviews or on stage at Comic-Con, you know he likes to have a good time with his fellow Marvel actors, joking and teasing them any chance he can get.
Now, he is making a bold claim about his upcoming film, Captain America: Brave New World, and it’s at the expense of Spider-Man actor, Tom Holland, who has gone tit for tat with Mackie over the years in a friendly feud about their characters and MCU films.
During a recent interview on The Official Marvel Podcast (via SuperHeroHype), Mackie made sure to tell the MCU fandom that Brave New World will be better than any movie starring Holland they might have seen, including his Spider-Man trilogy.
“Well, he’s Cap. Finally,” Mackie shared with a laugh. “Now we see him running missions on his own and trying to figure out where he fits into the whole world. This is way better than any of Tom Holland’s movies,” he added, before deciding to get one final jab in by reminding fans that his movie, unlike the Spider-Man trilogy, will also “have Harrison Ford!”
That’s a lot to compete with! But I know his comments were in jest… for the most part. Mackie is right, this movie does look excellent, but I wouldn’t compare it to Holland’s Spider-Man movies, as they are great, and very beloved by the fans.
It’s just funny that he is making these comments just to get the response from Holland, who will undoubtedly backfire in a fun way.
Captain America: Brave New World arrives in theaters on February 14, 2025.
