APOCALYPSE Z: NEW WORLD Trailer Looks Like a Bloody, Zombie-Filled Fight for Survival
The zombie apocalypse is far from over! Prime Video has released the first official trailer for Apocalypse Z: New World, the upcoming Spanish zombie horror sequel to 2024’s Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End. The footage is barely 45 seconds long, but it packs in plenty of nasty-looking infected and bloody chaos.
The story picks up after the devastating outbreak of the TSJ virus, which has turned much of Europe into a zombie-infested nightmare. The Canary Islands have become the continent’s last safe haven, but surviving the apocalypse requires more than finding somewhere to hide.
When a team is sent back to mainland Spain to retrieve desperately needed supplies, Roberto (Carlos Alcaide) joins the mission with his own secret agenda. What should be a dangerous but straightforward operation quickly turns into a fight for survival as the group encounters massive hordes of infected.
Of course, the zombies aren't the only problem. With tensions rising and loyalties being tested, Roberto and his fellow survivors must decide how far they're willing to go to stay alive and whether saving others is worth risking their own lives.
The film also stars Julia Martínez, José María Yazpik, Kevin Ramos, Mario Mayo, and Lucía Moreno. Spanish filmmaker Carles Torrens returns to direct the sequel after helming the first movie.
The screenplay was written by Ángel Agudo, with Adrián Guerra and Núria Valls producing. The franchise is based on Manel Loureiro's Spanish novel Apocalipsis Z.
The original film followed a man desperately trying to reunite with his family as the zombie outbreak spread. This sequel expands the story beyond that initial struggle, taking its survivors out of relative safety and throwing them straight back into infected territory.
I'm always up for a good zombie movie, and based on the footage shown so far, Apocalypse Z: New World looks like it'll deliver some intense zombie action and a healthy amount of gore.
Apocalypse Z: New World will premiere at the 2026 Sitges Film Festival before arriving on Prime Video on October 30, 2026, just in time for Halloween.
