Apparently Colin Trevorrow's STAR WARS: EPISODE IX Pitch Made Daisy Ridley Cry
After Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it's going to be really interesting to see where J.J. Abrams ends up taking the story in Star Wars: Episode IX. I just hope that it answers all the question that have been building up over the past two films!
Before Abrams jumped on to direct the film, Colin Trevorrow was developing the third and final chapter of this new trilogy. Before he ended up being dropped from the project and replaced, he shared his pitch for the film with franchise star Daisy Ridley, and on an episode of Collider‘s Jedi Council podcast, we learn that it moved her to tears.
SNL alum Bobby Moynihan was a guest on the show and he says that Trevorrow had met Ridley at an SNL after party and it's there that he told her about Rey’s future. Moynihan says he saw the whole thing, and shares that Ridley began crying after Trevorrow was done telling her his pitch.
Trevorrow spent a couple years working on the script and we really have no idea what he was planning. We may never know. At this point, it doesn't really matter. After being let go, I'm sure that Abrams is going to start from scratch with his own ideas of where he wants the story to go.
However, it would be interesting to learn what exactly Trevorrow was planning for Rey, especially since it brought her to tears! What is it that could possibly bring her to tears? The question is... were they tears of sadness or joy?
At this point, all we can do it speculate on what will happen with these characters next.
