Apple is Reportedly Looking to Incorporate AR as Bonus Content for TV+ Content

Apple is thinking of ways to add value to their TV+ streaming service. According to Bloomberg, Apple will be adding some AR content to go along with the programming on their streaming service as bonus content.

An example given was that while watching For All Mankind, one could use their iPhone or iPad to see a lunar rover in their living room during a moon-walking scene.

It should be noted that according to their sources, this addition of AR is not set in stone and may be scrapped, but for now, it’s planned for release next year. This would be a year before Apple’s planned AR and VR headset is released and this AR bonus content could be a great way to show off these headsets.

Personally, I’m not sold on this yet. It sounds pretty dumb in my opinion. Oh, I’m watching a show, let me pull out my phone to see what silly bonus content I can see in my living room. That being said, maybe I’m just not thinking enough of the possibilities.

I do think that with headsets, this has a lot more potential to be cool. What do you think about this potential for Apple to incorporate AR into the viewing experience?
