Apple's FOUNDATION Loses Josh Friedman as Co-Showrunner

Josh Friedman was co-showrunner for Apple’s new series called Foundation. Now, Friedman will solely be an executive producer for the project. THR reports that the decision for Friedman to no longer be a showrunner “was amicable.” This change will allow Friedman to shift his focus to feature film projects like Avatar 2.

“Foundation tells the complex saga of humans scattered on planets throughout the galaxy, all living under the rule of the Galactic Empire.”

Foundation is going to be based on Isaac Asimov’s trilogy of the same name with Asimov’s daughter, Robyn Asimov, serving as one of the executive producers.
