AQUAMAN Movie Test Screening Results Are In and it Sounds Like a Winner

DC’s first film after the critical failure that was Justice League is Aquaman. They have a lot riding on this film. Unfortunately for fans, the film won’t come out until December. However, this time does let Warner Bros. and DC get the movie to be the best that it can be. That being said, they’ve already done a test screening of the film.

A lot of the special effects weren’t done yet, but people were still able to see the story being played out as well as how well the actors did in their roles. After the screening, Batman News spoke to some of the audience and here’s what they had to say. (Some very minor spoilers may appear, so read on at your own discretion.)

Aquaman was described to me as an emotional action movie. I was told that the tone is similar to Wonder Woman. There is humor, but it’s more of a drama. And thanks to director James Wan’s previous work there are elements of horror as well.

Aquaman has Star Wars-like underwater battles, scary monsters, lots of emotions, and an amazing villain in Orm, played by Patrick Wilson. Amber Heard’s Mera is very much a co-lead and not just a love interest to Jason Momoa’s Aquaman.

Characters just talk normally underwater. No giant air bubbles like we saw in Justice League.

The rumors were true, Jason Momoa wears the comic book Aquaman costume in the movie.

Black Manta is a secondary villain. He looks just like he does in the comics and has the same origin as well.

Superhero News scoop confirmed, The Trench is in the movie.

Yes, Aquaman can talk to fish, and he does in the movie.

Sounds like this may be a winner. Of course, the movie still is not 100% complete and we always should take these results with a grain of salt. However, maybe Aquaman will be the movie DC needs. But will it be the movie that DC deserves?

Aquaman will come to theaters December 21, 2018.
