Are Two Game Modes Returning to SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE?

The Nintendo Direct in February announced Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Version 3.0 update was coming this spring with the addition of Joker. This means that fans can expect the update to take place in April, but other than that, the features of said update have been a mystery.

Well, some fans have gone down the rabbit hole and believe that the update will bring back two modes from previous games: Home Run Contest and Stage Builder.

According to Source Gaming, some datamined files were called “howtoplay_homerun.html” and “howtoplay_stage_builder.html” which is what really gave some rumors a leg to stand on. After all, rumors about Stage Builder returning have been circulating in some form since the Nintendo Direct which shows two images of a Nintendo Switch, but the screen is blurred in both. Fans have been able to see enough detail to think that the blurred images are of these returning modes.

I’d love for these modes to return. I’ve never really done anything in Stage Builder, but maybe it’s time for that to change.
