Armie Hammer Joins Thomas Jane in the New Western Thriller FRONTIER CRUCIBLE
Armie Hammer has booked his first film project in more than three years. He is set to join Thomas Jane in the upcoming Western Frontier Crucible.
The movie is described as Reservoir Dogs meets Bone Tomahawk, and “set in the Arizona Territory of the 1870s.”
Hammer will play a key role in the movie. Also starring will be Myles Clohessy (The Pendragon Cycle), Eli Brown (Run Hide Fight), Eddie Spears (Yellowstone) and Zane Holtz (Hunter Killer), singer/songwriter Jonah Kagen and Mary Stickley.
The film will follow “a former soldier (Clohessy) with a tragic past who is thrown into an uneasy alliance with three outlaws (Jane, Hammer and Kagen), a beautiful woman (Stickley), and her wounded husband (Brown), in an attempt to survive the elements and hostiles of the western frontier.”
As you know, back in 2021 Hammer was hit with sexual assault allegations. Since then he says he’s been working on himself. After an investigation into Hammer by the LA County District Attorney and LAPD, they declined to pursue criminal charges against him, citing insufficient evidence.
The actor also recently launched a podcast, The Armie HammerTime Podcast, the first episode of which includes an interview with actor Tom Arnold.
Frontier Crucible is being produced by Bone Tomahawk and Dragged Across Concrete producer Dallas Sonnier. Filming is due to get underway on the independently-financed film next month in Monument Valley and Prescott, Arizona.
The movie will be directed by Travis Mills (The Pendragon Cycle) and adapted from the 1961 western novel Desert Stake-Out by Harry Whittington.
Hammer recently posted an image on instagram of him with the film’s script.
