Arnold Schwarzenegger Isn't a Big Fan of the PREDATOR Sequels

Predator is easily one of the greatest and most badass sci-fi action films to come out of the 1980s. As a fan of the film, I don’t think any of the other Predator films have been as good. I’d be shocked if any of you disagreed with me on that. We aren’t alone in our thinking. During a recent Reddit Q&A, star Arnold Schwarzenegger shared his thoughts on the sequels:

“The sad story is that sometimes studios do a great job at creating sequels, and sometimes they really screw it up bad, and it all has to do with greed. They sometimes want to do it really cheap and make as much money as possible, so they don’t hire the right cast or the right director...
“It’s a stupid move to make, and therefore they lose a lot of money by doing that. So far, no Predator, no matter which one they did after the first one has come out, has been satisfactory to the audience.”

He makes a lot of great points there. The studios think they can make a quick and easy buck on these franchises that we enjoy so much. They figure since we’re all die-hard fans that we’ll still go see the film even if it's shit. It’s a shame, because they should be putting more love and care into these films to keep it going instead of killing the franchise with sub-par films.

Schwarzenegger also mentioned that the first film, directed by John McTernan, was one of his favorite films that he’s made.

Over the years, we’ve seen Predator 2 in 1990, Aliens vs. Predator in 2004, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem in 2007, and Predators in 2010. I’m sure Predator will eventually come back for another sequel, and when he does, I hope that Schwarzenegger will be there to fight him

Arnold Schwarzenegger answering redditors after the Terminator Genisys special preview screening that he put up just for them in NYC.
