Arnold Schwarzenegger Teases Possible Return as Dutch in New PREDATOR Movie

Fans of the Predator franchise might finally see the return of the character that started it all. Arnold Schwarzenegger recently hinted that he could be stepping back into the role of Dutch in a future installment of Predator, and it sounds like the conversation is already happening.

While attending the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, Schwarzenegger shared some updates about projects that studios have approached him about. One of them involves a potential return to the sci-fi action franchise that helped cement his action movie legacy.

"They did an additional Predator and the director (Dan Trachtenberg) has been doing a great job of that. Now, he wants me to be in the next Predator.

“We’ve talked about it. As a matter of fact, FOX studios has kind of rediscovered ‘Arnold’. They’ve come to me and said, 'We want you to do Predator, we just got a script for you to do Commando 2’."

Director Dan Trachtenberg, who reinvigorated the series with Prey, has already shown that he understands what fans love about the franchise. Bringing Dutch back into the story would connect the modern films directly to the original 1987 classic in a very cool way.

Of course, Schwarzenegger is now in his late seventies, but that doesn’t mean the action star is done throwing punches.

“Now, what they do is that they write the part. They don’t write them like I’m forty years old, you write it to be age-appropriate. I’ll still go in there and kick some ass but it will be different."

If this idea becomes reality, it would mark Schwarzenegger’s first appearance in a Predator film since the original movie. For longtime fans of the franchise, seeing Dutch return to face the alien hunter again would be a pretty awesome moment, and it seems like this is what Trachtenberg has been working toawrd.

Nothing is officially confirmed yet, but the idea of Schwarzenegger teaming up with Trachtenberg for a new Predator movie is definitely exciting!
