Arnold Schwarzenegger is Set to Star in a New Western Series For Amazon Called OUTRIDER
Amazon is developing an event series called Outrider, which is a western that will star Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is also set as an executive producer. This sounds like it will be a solid and awesome series and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes of it.
The show is being co-written and executive produced by Trey Calloway (APB, The Messengers, CSI: NY) and Mark Montgomery. Thanks to Deadline, we also have some story details to share with you!
Outrider is a mystery set in the Oklahoma Indian Territory in the late 1800s. It tells the dark and dangerous tale of a deputy who is not only tasked by a notoriously brutal judge with apprehending a legendary outlaw in the wilderness – but must also partner with a ruthless Federal Marshall to make sure justice is properly served. And as the story unfolds, not only will enemies become allies, but a series of unpredictable surprises will blur the line between good guys and bad.
Schwarzenegger will take on the role of the Federal Marshal who immigrated to the US from Europe as a child. This will be the first major scripted TV role for the actor, and it seems like an awesome badass character for him to take on. This will be his second western project. Back in 1979, he starred in the film called The Villain. I'm sure this next project will be a lot better! What do you think of his latest project?
