Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1996 Film ERASER Has Been Rebooted
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1996 action film Eraser might be a forgettable film for most, but for me, it was one of the coolest moviegoing experiences I ever had! My friends and I were invited to an early screening of the film while we were still in high school.
We were sitting in the very back of the theater, and right after the movie started Schwarzenegger himself came in through the back and sat down right next to us! We watched Eraser with Arnold Schwarzenegger and it was the best! He laughed at his own jokes, talked during the movie, and I’ll never forget the sound of him munching on his popcorn.
Anyway, Eraser is getting a reboot! It is titled Eraser: Reborn, and it stars Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments and Penny Dreadful: City of Angels star Dominic Sherwood. The movie has actually been completed already and was shot under the radar this past summer.
The film follows U.S. Marshal Mason Pollard who specializes in engineering the fake deaths of witnesses that need to leave no trace of their existence.
The cast also includes Jacky Lai (V-Wars), McKinley Belcher III (Ozark), and Eddie Ramos (Animal Kingdom). The movie was directed by John Pogue (Deep Blue Sea 3).
I don’t see any reason why this movie needed to be rebooted. The first one really wasn’t that good and the only reason why it worked was because Arnold starred in it. I’ll probably never watch this reboot, but if you’re interested, it will eventually be released.
