Artist Combines POKEMON and AVENGERS for Fun Art

Pokémon and Avengers are two very popular franchises and so it’s normal for the two to cross paths. Internet user heymewses recently shared some art of Pokémon dressed as Avengers. There’s Pikachu as Thor with Mimikyu as Loki, Munchlax as Bruce Banner with Snorlax as Hulk, and some other great designs. The one I am a little confused about is Meowth as Iron Man. Is it because of Meowth’s love of money? Either way, the art is really cool and I’m a fan of their work. In fact, if you like the art, you can even pre-order some enamel pins. One of my favorites is Thanos Gengar. What’s your favorite?

When #eevee is exposed to the heart-shaped herb, he evolves into the defender of #wakanda: Black Pantheon! We got a lot of suggestions on which Pokemon to use for this #blackpantherdrawing! We didn't want to use a cat because that would be a little too obvious, and we didn't want to go with a humanoid #pokemon either (that felt like the easy way out!). #umbreon was the perfect decision because he gets his powers similarly to how #blackpanther gets his. #tchalla gets his power from drinking the heart-shaped herb, and #eeveelutions happen after Eevee is exposed to different elements (the moon, in this case). The real question is: would he be able to join the #eeveelutionsquad? 😂 This is the last of the Pokevengers! Here's two of the #guardiansofthegalaxy joining our #pokemonmarvel mashup: #zigzagoon as #rocketraccoon and #Sudowoodo as #groot. The two of them are Rocket ZigzagRaccoon and Sudogrooto! Zigzagoon was a #pokemon we instantly fell in love with and we definitely wanted to create #marvelfanart around him. He was very easy to see as Rocket Raccoon! And seeing as how Rocket likes weapons, we wanted to give him a big #nerfgun and a ton of foam bullets. Who else remembers shooting these things?! We actually didn't have a #iamgroot design until we saw Sudowoodo and it made sense to pair them together, especially after our other Scarlevoir and Visigon2 post (check our profile for it if you haven't seen it)!? Next up in our #pokevengers collection is #gardevoir as #scarletwitch and #porygon2 in his best #visioncosplay: Scarlevoir & Visigon2!⁣ 😊⁣ ⁣ Not going to lie, the first concepts for this #pokemonmashup weren't too interesting until we remembered how powerful Scarlet Witch is in the comics. She created a whole alternative universe where everyone's dreams come true! For being someone who can do THAT and also move giant death wheels in #avengersinfinitywar easy peasy, she's a little underutilized, don't you think? 😅⁣ ⁣ Crossing #wandamaximoff with the OG psychic lady, Gardevoir, was an easy decision since they already look so similar outfit-wise. But it wasn't until we saw how cute #Porygon is and how perfect he would be as Vision when the design really came together! The design draws heavily on how much of a power couple they are in the comic books and we wanted to show off her powers by manifesting the heart shapes. ⁣ ⁣ Is this a successful crossover? "You should have gone... for the tongue...!" Here is our tribute to the Mad Titan himself: Thangar! As a little insight to our design process while drafting the #pokevengers, we were going to pick either Gengar, Mewtwo, Machamp (because he could juggle multiple Infinity Gauntlets... but then we realized there are 6 stones and only 4 arms d'oh), or even Wailord (because of their matching chins!). But between all four, Mewtwo was the closest competitor. We liked Metwo because he has the most Thanos-y attitude and stature, but ultimately went with Gengar because: 1) he's a ghost type and Thanos falls in love with Mistress Death in the comics and 2) his facial expression matches the tone of the Pokevengers collection better! We wanted to feature the Infinity Gauntlet and all the Infinity Stones. We were inspired by Thanos showing up in Wakanda during #infinitywar and wanted to incorporate the power of the Space Stone with the portal behind him. Remember: he is Thangar, and you are nothing! As with the rest of the Pokevengers, this design will be released later this month as an enamel pin available for purchase directly on our website (link in bio). More details coming soon!
