Artist Crafts a Full Scale Xenomorph in an Epic 20 Day Build

Artist Jon Laymon recently unveiled a full scale Xenomorph sculpture inspired by the Alien franchise and it is stunning. Laymon explained that his connection to this world goes back decades and that this new creation was a fresh start after abandoning an older version.

As he put it, “l love “Aliens”. I started the first alien over 20 years ago. But the obsession for me started many, many years ago. …I could have finished the older alien, but I wasn’t really excited about the pose and how he was looking.

“Plus, I wanted to show you guys how I built one start to finish.” His passion for Aliens clearly fueled a fast and focused build and the result captures the eerie elegance fans love.

What makes the project even cooler is how few materials Laymon relied on to bring this terrifying creature to life. He broke it down, saying:

“20 days ago, this was a pile of steel that I had outside. two kits of epoxy, one box of spray foam, and a whole lot of ambition. I started that first Alien 20 years ago, and it’s pretty poetic that this one took 20 days.”

The mix of minimal supplies and maximum dedication makes this life sized Xenomorph an impressive piece of fan crafted art and a reminder of how far creativity can go when someone is genuinely excited about a world like Aliens.
