Artist for LEAGUE OF LEGENDS eSports Team Schalke is Launching Digital Comic About eSports

Vel is an artist for Schalke’s League of Legends eSports team and now she has a new webcomic on the online platform Tapas called DPS Only!. The comic shares the experiences of women in eSports and is actually pretty cool to read. With the rise of eSports, who hasn’t played a game and hoped to one day be seen as one of thee greats?

A coming-of-age tale exploring what it means to be a woman in eSports, an underrepresented and passionate group often overshadowed by and hidden within a traditionally male dominated world. Vicky ‘Vic’ Tan overcomes her social anxiety, self-doubt, and society’s expectations to pursue her dream of becoming a professional gamer. Combining first-hand experiences of women gamers and a fictional game world inspired by globally loved games such as Super Smash Bros. and Overwatch, DPS Only! is a premier story for gamers, by gamers.
