Artist Turns Home Depot’s 12-Foot Skeleton Into a Giant Living Chia Pet

Just when you thought Home Depot's 12-foot skeleton couldn't get any more ridiculous, artist Ali Spagnola went and turned the giant Halloween decoration into a massive living Chia Pet!

Taking the idea of growing a Chia Pet to an absurd new level, Spagnola covered the towering skeleton in chia seeds, but getting them to sprout across the entire structure was no easy task.

The ambitious DIY project involved some tricky structural challenges and carefully controlled growing conditions to keep the delicate seeds alive and thriving.

After successfully transforming the skeleton into a giant green monster, Spagnola finished off her creation with matching festive lights, making it an even more hilarious lawn decoration.

As she perfectly described her creation, "12ft Home Depot Skeleton…but make it Chia Pet!" It's a wonderfully weird combination of Halloween decoration and gardening experiment, and you've got to appreciate the creativity that went into bringing this oversized Chia skeleton to life.
