As Expected a DOWNTON ABBEY Sequel is in Development

Downton Abbey was a fantastic series and after it came to an end, the story continued with an incredible film that was made. This property is just great storytelling filled with wonderful characters. The movie also ended up being a big success, so it’s not surprising to learn that Carnival Films is developing a sequel.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Carnival Films chairman Gareth Neame confirmed that there is movement on making this sequel happen.

“We’re having those conversations. We’re working on what the story is, and when we might be able to make it. But it’s the same as the first time around: We have to try to get everyone back together again. And that was very challenging.”

This is exciting news for Downton Abbey fans and it will be interesting to see how they will continue the story for all these characters. As you might expect, creator Julian Fellowes who wrote the film’s screenplay will return to develop the sequel.
