As Expected Warner Bros. is Already Discussing an AQUAMAN Sequel

There’s no doubt that James Wan and Jason Momoa’s Aquaman movie is going to be a huge hit and make tons of money. The film is already being praised by audiences and critics, so of course, Warner Bros. is going to want to make a sequel!

THR recently published an article on Amber Heard, who plays Mera in the film, and they say that the studio is confident enough in the film to start discussing the sequel.

“According to strong early tracking, the film is expected to earn an impressive $65 million in its domestic debut and top Mary Poppins Returns and Transformers spinoff Bumblebee. That number gave Warner Bros. Pictures Group chairman Toby Emmerich enough confidence to begin talks on a sequel (though no writer has been commissioned yet).”

I imagine that the studio will want to try and bring back as many of the original cast and crew members as they can, including Wan. But, even if Wan doesn’t come back to direct, there’s no doubt he’ll be a producer on the sequel. It’d be pretty cool if he did come back though, because apparently he did an awesome job with this first movie.

The article goes on to say that if things should move forward with the sequel, Heard is looking at a big pay raise. The actress earned a “low-seven-figure” salary for Aquaman to start, but I’m sure she’ll end up getting what she wants.

WB hasn’t officially announced an Aquaman sequel yet, but it won’t come to a surprise to anyone when they do.
