Ash and Xena Team Up in ARMY OF DARKNESS and XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS Crossover Comic!

We’re going to get to see Ash Williams team up with Xena in Dynamite Entertainment’s Xena, Warrior Princess and Amy of Darkness crossover comic that they just announced. This is a four-part miniseries called Army of Darkness / Xena, Warrior Princess: Forever… and a Day, and it is being written by Scott Lobdell (Red Hood and the Outlaws) and illustrated by Elliot Fernandez (Harley Quinn and Power Girl).

Xena will call upon Ash to help her battle an army of the undead. It looks like they are going to get into a little fight first, but in the end they will work together to save the day. Here’s the official description of the series:

You're Xena the Warrior Princess and your thousand strong army has fallen to an implacable and ancient evil. What do you do? You suck it up and summon the only ally who stands any hope at all of helping you prevent the end of the world. Unfortunately, that lone man is the wise ass, ass kicking, time traveling, woman kissing, boom sticker known as Ash!

Nick Barrucci, Dynamite CEO and Publisher, had this to say about the comic:

"Ashley Williams will always be one of my favorite characters, because there's so many great AOD tales to tell, and he was the first Dynamite title we ever published. You never forget your first. As one of the most unlikely heroes in pop culture, it makes it impossible not to love him... unless, of course, you're a battle-hardened warrior like Xena, who has a little less tolerance for such shenanigans. It's an odd couple pairing that fans of both franchises will love!"

It’s kind of funny because Bruce Campbell and Lucy Lawless currently star together in Starz's Ash Vs. Evil Dead, but this comic actually brings together the characters that we’ve enjoyed seeing them play in the past, and it looks like it's going to be a fun story!

The comic is set to be released in October of this year. Below you'll find some art from the comic including some variant covers.
