ASH VS. EVIL DEAD Might Lead to More EVIL DEAD Films

At the TCA presentation of Starz's Ash vs. Evil Dead today, star Bruce Campbell said something that will probably make Evil Dead fans very happy. According to Deadline:

“This series will force us to make more movies. That’s only 10 hours of programming; we need eight more movies...Making a fourth movie would work. … No matter what we give them, it will never be enough.”

He was joking about the eight more movies, but when actual talk of a fourth film arose, director and EP Sam Raimi, who was also on the panel, piped up to say that he would direct another film in the franchise if Campbell were to star in it.

I'm sure fans would be thrilled to get a fourth Evil Dead movie, but right now the attention is on the Starz series to see if that's going to be a worthy follow-up. From the looks of the Comic-Con trailer, it's going to be very much in line with what fans want to see, so I wouldn't be surprised if the show did end up kicking off a fourth movie, maybe after it finishes its run on TV.

Ash vs. Evil Dead debuts on Starz on October 31st.
