Ashley Benson Stars in and Produces a New Pandemic Slasher Film 18 & OVER
Pretty Little Liars actress Ashley Benson is starring in and producing a slasher horror film, set during a pandemic, titled 18 & Over. Benson co-created the story for the film with Jimmy Giannopolous and Diomedes Raul Bermudez.
There aren’t really any story details to share at this point. All we know is that is takes place when “quarantine leads to a night of terror.”
Benson will be joined in the film by Jon Foster, Jake Weary, Sky Ferreira, Luis Guzman, Winnie Harlow, G Eazy, Duke Nicholson, A$AP Nast, John Robinson, Paris Hilton, and Pamela Anderson. G Eazy also composed the film’s score.
Giannopolous directed the horror thriller from a screenplay that he co-wrote with Bermudez. He said in a statement:
“After deciding to shoot this film in the middle of the pandemic, we wanted to make something that would be fun but still a terrifying slasher for audiences during these tough times. A film relevant to today’s issues of a global pandemic, reality shows, isolation, Only Fans, and obsession.”
Does anyone ever have any desire or interest in watching any new film set during a pandemic after having lived through it for over a year? I’d think audiences would want more escapism.
