Atari Is Launching the Atari VCS Console/PC Hybrid Next Month

In these days of Xbox Series versus PS5, it’s hard to think of any other consoles being released. Well, Atari has a new treat coming out soon for fans. They recently unveiled the Atari VCS console/PC hybrid. The VCS features a console device to connect to your television, wireless controllers, over 100 classic Atari games, upcoming games to add to your library, and the ability to stream. All of this with support for 60fps at 4K resolution!

Now, when the Atari VCS launches next month, it will only have access to Atari Vault and some mystery games that haven’t been announced yet. However, there’s more that this little machine can do. The VCS will have the ability to dual boot into a PC mode which will let you install a 2nd OS like Windows and run programs like Steam.

The VCS is available to pre-order through Atari, GameStop, and Walmart now for $389.99. Inside the console you’ll find a 32GB eMMC storage drive (there’s support for external devices and even cloud services), 8GB of RAM, the AMD Raven Ridge 2 APU, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4/5GHz, and Bluetooth 4.0. The console comes with a wireless controller and wireless Atari joystick, but you can also connect a mouse and keyboard if you prefer.
