ATTACK ON TITAN Season 2 Coming in 2016
Just last week we got our first look at the characters from the live-action Attack on Titan movie in a series of character posters that you can check out here. We’ve now learned that the second season of the Japanese anime will return in 2016. That’s a long ass time for fans to have to wait, but at least it’s coming.
The news comes from a press conference regarding the first Attack on Titan animated film, Attack on Titan Part I: Crimson Bow and Arrow. It was also announced at the event that the second Attack on Titan animated film, Attack on Titan Part II: Wings of Freedom, will be released on June 27th, 2015.
I’ve gone through the first season of the animated series a couple times already, and it looks like I’ll have plenty of time to go through it again before the highly anticipated second season is released.
Attack on Titan is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. The series began in September 2009. The story of Attack on Titan takes place in a world where the remnants of humanity live inside a series of connected cities, isolated by enormous walls. These walls exists to keep the Titans out, gigantic humanoid creatures who devour humans seemingly without reason. These Titans have reduced the world's population to staggeringly low numbers. The 3 main protagonists of Isayama's manga are Eren Jaeger, his adoptive sister Mikasa Ackerman, and their friend Armin Arlert. Their lives are changed forever when a "Colossal Titan" breaches the wall protecting their town, leading to thee death of Eren's mother. Vowing revenge and to reclaim the world from the Titans, Eren, Mikasa and Armin join the Survey Corps, an elite group of soldiers who fight Titans outside the walls.
If you haven't jumped on board the Attack on Titan bandwagon yet, you might as well do it now because awesome things are coming.
