AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER Cast Members to Do Live Read of TOPH BEIFONG'S METALBENDING ACADEMY

Dark Horse comics released the graphic novel Avatar: The Last Airbender - Toph Beifong’s Metalbending Academy back in February. Now, they’ve teamed up with Nickelodeon to bring an exciting event to ATLA fans, a live reading by the cast members.

Michaela Murphy (Toph), Jennie Kwan (Suki), and Jack De Sena (Sokka) will all be reading the graphic novel for fans to enjoy, and they’ll also be joined by author Faith Erin Hicks and artist Peter Wartman to discuss the latest adventure. In addition, a free excerpt will be made available digitally for fans to follow along during the reading.

For some, perfection just isn't enough. Things are looking bright at the Beifong Metalbending Academy! But after all the adventures Toph's had with Aang, Sokka, Zuko, and Katara, the whole thing feels a bit dull. Luckily, Sokka and Suki come to visit and reintroduce some familiar faces from their wandering days. And while out and about to celebrate, Toph discovers something that just might put the sparkle back in her eye. . .

The live reading will take place on May 19 at 1 PM PT on the Dark Horse and Nickelodeon Twitch and Youtube channels. After the reading, fans are invited to participate in the Twitch chat for a moderated Q&A session. In addition, Dark Horse will be giving away one copy each of Toph Beifong’s Metalbending Academy and Katara and the Pirate’s Silver during the stream with one entry allowed per person and Twitch account. If you can’t make it, the stream will be available as video on demand after the event.
