AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER Gets More Comics to Continue the Story
We recently found out that Avatar: The Last Airbender was finally getting a Blu-Ray release, and we as fans lost our minds. While going through the comments section, I saw a number of people wanting the show to return and continue the story in some way. Well, they sort of got their wish. Dark Horse has announced two new comics to continue the story of Aang and the gang.
The first is called Avatar: The Last Airbender – Team Avatar Tales and will be an anthology comic with stories from various creators. Some of the stories will be from past Free Comic Book Day publications, while others have never been shared before. These stories will come from Gene Luen Yang, Erin Hicks, Carla Speed McNeil, Ron Koertge, Dave Scheidt, and Sara Goetter. It will reflect the show and offer us stories that range from the reflection of deep issues to wild adventures that include saving a pumpkin farmer (maybe the cabbage vendor will make an appearance). Team Avatar Tales is set for release on September 5, 2018.
The second one to be released will be Avatar: The Last Airbender- Imbalance Part One on October 10, 2018. This will be the first part of a trilogy penned by Hicks and drawn by Peter Wartman. Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph will find themselves in a similar situation as what we see in Legend of Korra. The four of them will be “dealing with a conflict between benders and non-benders in a booming industrial town.” Do you think that this will connect the two series? After all, Hicks and Wartman are reported to be working with the creators of the show, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.
