AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER Is Getting Chibified Books for Children

Avatar: The Last Airbender sure seems to be in the spotlight lately. The latest announcement comes from Dark Horse and Nickelodeon who recently revealed a new line of books intended for children. All I have to say is that it looks absolutely adorable. Avatar: The Last Airbender – Chibi is a new series from children’s author Kelly Leigh Miller (I am a Wolf) and artist Diana Sim in collaboration with ATLA series writer Tim Hedrick.

Avatar: The Last Airbender—Chibi launches with Aang’s Unfreezing Day. When Aang was frozen in an iceberg for a hundred years, he managed to forget his birthday! Luckily his friends Katara, Toph, Sokka, and Zuko plan to surprise him with a new special day to celebrate. But they’ll have to be careful while they prepare--it’s a surprise!

The first volume, Aang’s Unfreezing Day, is set to release on September 7 and can be pre-ordered now through local comic shops, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
