Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have released a teasing photo from the set of the untitled Avengers 4 and announced that they have started production on the film. The photo, which you can see below, gives us a close up look at a glove from one of the heroes (possibly Captain America) and it came along with the caption:
"Beginning the end."
This fourth Avengers film will bring an end to not only the third phase of the MCU, but it will bring a conclusion to everything that began with Iron Man. We have no idea what the MCU will be like after this movie, but the Spider-Man sequel will kick off the next phase of films.
According to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, the MCU will be a very different and new thing. I have a feeling that this whole Avengers story arc is going to be bitter/sweet because it's going to be so awesome! But at the same time heroes will die.
As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment - the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
Avengers 4 hits theater on May 3rd, 2019.
