AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON — Ulysses Klaw and Tony Stark's Connection Revealed

Andy Serkis' villainous character Ulysses Klaw will be introduced in Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron and it sounds like his role is going to play a bigger part in the Marvel cinematic universe than some of you originally thought.

Marvel has a new press release that offers up some information on the characters in the film. Everything included in it is pretty standard stuff, but then there was this new description regarding Ulysses Klaw that stuck out:

A black-market arms dealer, smuggler and gangster operating out of South Africa. He is a former acquaintance of Tony Stark’s from his weapons-dealing days and a powerful new player in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

So not only is his connection to Tony Stark revealed, but he's also going to end up being a "powerful" player in the MCU. So I guess we can expect him to show up again somewhere down line in other Marvel films. One of those I'm sure will be Black Panther's solo movie.

The character is somewhat cut from the same cloth as Stark only he's much more sinister. He is a brilliant scientist that invents awesome breakthrough technology. There's fan speculation that suggests Klaw’s involvement in Age of Ultron will be directly connected to the resource vibranium. He needs it to help fuel his technology. In case you didn't know, vibranium is the same metal that Captain America’s shield is made out of.

There's also a good chance that Ultron wants vibranium as well so that he could use it to make his robotic body virtually indestructible. Maybe Ultron obtains Klaw’s contact info from Stark’s contacts list.

I'm excited to see Serkis in this role. He looks great in the shots that we've seen of him in the trailers, and it seems like he fits the character perfectly.
