AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Comic-Con Display Reveals Costumes for Cyclops, Gambit, Captain America, a Sentinel Head, and More
San Diego Comic-Con 2026 is officially here, and Marvel Studios is giving fans plenty to obsess over before the convention floor even gets into full swing.
Photos from the studio's Avengers: Doomsday display have surfaced online, offering our best look yet at several costumes from the upcoming Marvel event film, along with a few intriguing surprises that are already fueling fan theories.
The display is anchored by a new Avengers: Doomsday-themed Marvel logo, but it's the costumes that are grabbing everyone's attention.
On display are suits for Thor, Cyclops, Gambit, Captain America, Yelena Belova, and Sue Storm, giving fans an up-close look at what these heroes will be wearing when they assemble for Marvel's next massive crossover.
One of the biggest highlights is the official costume worn by James Marsden's Scott Summers. After years of wondering how Cyclops would make the jump into the MCU, it looks like Marvel decided not to reinvent one of the X-Men's most recognizable looks.
The suit stays remarkably faithful to the comics with its blue armored design, bright yellow accents on the gloves, shoulders, and boots, and a yellow utility belt featuring the classic X-Men "X" emblem.
Of course, Scott's signature ruby-quartz visor is front and center, but eagle-eyed fans also spotted something that previous live-action versions skipped entirely.
The chest armor features a textured X pattern woven into the design, adding another comic-inspired touch that longtime X-Men fans are sure to appreciate.
Gambit's costume also made an appearance, along with Captain America's latest suit, while Yelena Belova and Sue Storm's costumes offer another glimpse at how Marvel is bringing together heroes from every corner of its universe.
Marvel also revealed our first official look at a Sentinel head, and it couldn't look much closer to the comic book version. It’s going to be cool seeing these giant mutant-hunting robots on the big screen!
Another display piece that's generating plenty of conversation is the mysterious Latverian Witch. We already posted an article, but seeing the costume as part of Marvel's SDCC showcase has only intensified speculation. The leading theory is that she's connected to Scarlet Witch in some way.
Rumors have been circulating for quite some time that Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom will be accompanied by female variants, but their identities remain a mystery.
Many fans are hoping this particular witch turns out to be Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, though there are several other possibilities being tossed around.
If recent plot leak rumors are accurate, one of the witches could actually be a shape-shifter who disguises herself as Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter in an attempt to deceive Chris Evans' Steve Rogers. Other fan theories suggest the masked figure could instead be Clea, played by Charlize Theron, or Sylvie Laufeydottir, portrayed by Sophia Di Martino.
At this point, it's all speculation, but Marvel clearly knows how to keep fans guessing.
After last year's schedule shakeup, Avengers: Doomsday is now set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars will follow on December 17, 2027.
If this SDCC display is any indication, Marvel is finally starting to pull back the curtain, and there's a lot more waiting to be revealed before Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters.
